Who and what are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project & Business Analyst to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in the assessment and analysis of projects, focusing on critical time-bound dependencies in project development and program management. The Senior Project & Business Analyst will be a key member of our Project team, responsible for providing in-depth analysis, insights, and recommendations related to options analysis for management teams in agroforestry carbon and agro commodities projects. This role requires expertise in project assessment, data analysis, and proficiency in tools such as Google Workplace G Suite, JIRA, Confluence, and Google Sheets automation.

The candidates we are looking for are expected to have a fair understanding of Meghalaya landscape and horticulture/ agriculture/ agroforestry / forestry practices. She/he is expected to be comfortable with regular travels and regular preparation of reports, and carry out any other project activities as required. You will excel in working across a diverse and dispersed team building positive relationships. 

Main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Analyse and evaluate critical time-bound dependencies in project development and program management within the Agroforestry, Carbon and Agro Commodities sector.
  • Utilise Google Workplace G Suite, JIRA, Confluence, and Google Sheets automation to streamline data analysis processes and generate actionable insights.
  • Conduct comprehensive research and data collection to support project assessment and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify project risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations for mitigation and enhancement.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations that communicate analysis findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Program Director and Program Managers.
  • Continuously monitor project progress and performance, identifying potential issues and deviations from established plans.
  • Participate in project meetings, contributing expertise in critical dependencies and offering insights that drive project success.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to agroforestry carbon and agro commodities.
  • Onboard yourself into Earthtree Workplace, JIRA, Confluence and Earthbanc MRV App – and check the posts each day and reply conscientiously with Earthtree colleagues to ensure you keep moving priorities and project deliverables forward.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Information Systems, Business Management, Economics, Actuary, Accountancy, or verbally a Google Sheets and document workflow  ‘power user’. Alternatively studied in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years experience as a Business or Project Analyst, preferably in the Agroforestry, Forest, Carbon, Road Construction, Infrastructure, or Agro Commodities sector.
  • Strong proficiency as a power user in one of the following project management or program management software tools: Google Workplace G Suite, JIRA, Coda or Confluence, or Google Sheets automation.
  • Expert level excel programming experience.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex data sets, 
  • Ability to analyse information, identify gaps in information and frame the resulting at risk dependencies, into an options analysis briefing for management, that provides enough analytical information about the budgetary and management options, to enable Business Managers and Directors to make a management decision to overcome the challenge identified in your analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Worked previously at Deloitte, EY, Accenture, Mckinsey, BCG, consulting firms, technology companies, large industrial companies, asset managers, banks and financial services, Government innovation and technology agencies and institutions , agriculture, forestry, roads construction, power and mining sector, and other suitable sectoral experience.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
